Emergency Medical Services

At St. Johns Fire District, providing exceptional emergency medical care is a core part of our mission. As an Advanced Life Support (ALS) agency, every operations member is certified as a Paramedic, Advanced EMT, or EMT Basic, ensuring a highly trained medical response arrives with every emergency incident.

While we do not provide patient transport services, our personnel work seamlessly alongside Charleston County EMS and other regional response partners to deliver advanced medical care from the moment help arrives. Through strong partnerships and coordinated response, patients receive timely, high-quality treatment and a smooth transition to transporting EMS providers.

Our commitment to innovation allows us to bring cutting-edge medical interventions directly to the patient. Recent advancements include the use of intravenous (IV) acetaminophen (Tylenol) for pain management and the deployment of whole blood therapy, enabling our crews to deliver life-saving blood transfusions in the field when every second counts.
