Professional Standards

Functions of Professional Standards and Training

To function most effectively, the Operations Division must maintain the highest level of proficiency in accordance with standards and criteria established at the federal, state, and local level.

The Office of Professional Standards and Training has the responsibility to monitor these changing requirements and implement training activities to ensure the department is well prepared. The development of training programs occurs through the research of new and innovative training practices and review of departmental curriculum.

Annual Training Plan

The STJFD Annual Training Plan is the blueprint for all training within the St. John’s Fire District and was developed with input from the Strategic Planning session, Command Staff, and Training Advisory Committee. The training committee establishes the training for the year, including topics, time frames, and hours per subject area.
